For the Colts, it just keeps getting worse.

Andrew Luck’s shoulder problem has not fully healed, and once again the Colts will be short-handed heading into Houston tonight.

But wait, it gets worse.

Colts backup Matt Hasselbeck spent time in the hospital this week. The backup has a virus, and received fluids and treatment until early Tuesday morning. Neither QB has thrown in practice this week.

If all else fails, Josh Johnson will take snaps for the Colts tonight. Johnson was signed last Wednesday, only to be released and subsequently re-signed. Johnson hasn’t started since Week 12 of the 2011 season, and hasn’t played in the NFL since 2013.

Going into the season, Andrew Luck had never missed a game in his NFL career. Going into tonight’s game, the Colts have won 16 straight against their divisional opponents, including five straight over the Texans. In the end, the streak is not nearly as important as the health of your franchise QB. The Colts still have high hopes for this season, and will still hold a share of the division lead regardless of tonight’s outcome.

Bottom line: the Colts have had bad Luck this season.
