The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) are clearing the scene of Bailey’s shooting, as is commonplace with any police shooting. The town of Edson has a population of just over 8,000 people. Residents of the town are referred to as Edsonites. It’s located 125 miles west of Edmonton. After the killings were uncovered, Edson’s mayor, Greg Pasychny, said “Any time you have an incident like this, especially with three people, it kind of sends chills through the community. This is an isolated incident in one location. It’s not like someone was going on a rampage or anything. It’s a sad thing to say, but this isn’t the first time we’ve had a major incident in our area.”
