Primus Back On Tour And New Album

Les Claypool has pulled the members of Primus back together after being on a four year hiatus, Spinner.com reports. The band will perform with their former drummer Jay Lane who hasn’t played with the band since 1989. They’ll start their new tour July 27th in Toronto with gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello, perform at Gathering of the Vibes on July 31st in Connecticut and finish on August 15th in Santa Barbara, Ca with Wolfmother.

But here’s the big stuff. They’re also planning on releasing a new album later this year. They’ll go into the studio after their tour which they plan will “refine their chops before heading into the studio to record their first album of brand new music since 1999’s ‘Antipop.'”
