Holy crap, where was this 25 years ago? Warner Brothers has announced details of a special The Goonies 25th Anniversary Collection DVD/ Blu-Ray Box Set, to be released to stores on November 2nd, 2010. The classic ’80s film, directed by Richard Donner and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, was the story of a band of kids that with the help of a treasure map, a giant, and Corey Feldman, find a pirate ship and save a town from your everyday rich folks and gangsters. It was the 80s, you had to be there.
The contents of the box set include what are sure to be instant party starters for every kid that grew up with a fondness for the Truffle Shuffle:
- A copy of The Goonies board game
- Collectible storyboard prints
- A 1985 souvenir magazine with behind the scenes stories
- A reprint of a 2009 Empire magazine with updates on the entire cast and crew
While it doesn’t appear that the actual DVD or Blu-Ray are going to feature any extras that aren’t already on the existing DVD release, for those wondering what those features are:
