666 Park Avenue is one of the most anticipated new shows of the Fall 2012 season. An interesting premise (haunted apartment building?) paired with an all-star cast (Locke from Lost and Vanessa Williams from those Radio Shack commercials) has this show creating more buzz than a cellphone in a movie theater (hiyo!). At the center of this show is blonde bombshell Rachael Taylor. Rachael plays Jane Van Veen, the smokin’ hot new co-manager of Park Avenue’s spookiest piece of real estate.
Who is Rachael Taylor? Where does she come from? Is she gonna be haunting my apartment anytime soon? We did some checkin’ up on Park Avenue’s newest/hottest landlord.
1. She’s Australian
Taylor is a native of Launceston, Tasmania, which is in a town in one of the islands of Australia. Other famous natives of Tasmania? Taz from Looney Tunes and the term “put a Shrimp on the Barbie.”
2. She was in Transformers
Remember that super cute, super smart, super Australian programming girl from the first Transformers movie? THAT WAS RACHAEL! Taylor’s first foray into Hollywood was starring alongside Shia Labeouf. Gonna be honest, Shia made a big mistake taking home Megan Fox over Rachael Taylor.
3.She Was Miss Teen Tasmania
On an island whose major export is mediocre Australian Rules Football players, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Rachael probably had an easy time taking that crown. Rachael then made it to the finals of Miss Universe but lost; I can only assume the reason for this is that there are some sexy aliens out there.
4. She was one of Charlie’s Angels
Granted, the show didn’t last that long, but it wasn’t for lack of aesthetics. This show basically showcased the trifecta of sexy women in Hollywood as Taylor starred alongside Annie Ilonzeh and Minka Kelly. Lebron doesn’t hit 3-pointers that sweet.
5. She’s a College Dropout
Taylor pulled a Zuckerberg back in 2005 when she dropped out of the University of Sydney to pursue a role on an Australian TV drama called Headland. Although Headland only lasted two seasons, it’s safe to say that Taylor’s decision to drop out was the right call. Let that be a lesson to you kids: If you drop out of school to pursue a career in acting it will always work out.
6. Her English Professor Was also Her Modeling Agent
Rachael got into modeling as a teenager but was urged to pursue it more intensely by her English professor at the University of Sydney, Rebecca Miller. Professor Miller also happened to be pulling double duty with Taylor as her modeling agent. Conflict of interest?
7. She Starred Alongside El Cunado in Splinterheads
Before Jason Mantzoukas was El Cunado on The League he was a crazy carnival performer in the movie Splinterheads. Rachael Taylor played a fellow carnie in this 2009 comedy alongside UCB’s Thomas Middleditch. BRO-LO meets RO-TO! (That’s her nickname, right? No? Well it is now.)
Taylor was named one of the 7 Fresh Faces at Sundance in 2008 along with names like Jason Ritter and Olivia Thirlby. Btdubs, Thirlby was the girl who hooked up with Josh from “Drake and Josh” in the movie The Wackness.
9. She Wanted to Study History and Politics
I guess Rachael has got some brains under that pretty shell. Taylor’s original intention was to study history and politics in college before she dropped out.
10. She’s Single
Taylor is single, although she has been linked to some major Hollywood A-listers like Matthew Newman and Zachary Levi. Jeez, first “Chuck” gets canceled and then he gets dumped by Rachael Taylor — Zachary Levi is not having a good year.
