We had a chance to watch the pilot episode of Fox’s “The Following” Starring Kevin Bacon and a Q+A with the cast and crew at New York City Comic Con 2012.
Here are 10 facts you need to know about Fox’s latests “OH SNAP! DID YOU JUST SEE THAT?!?!” show.
1. Kevin Bacon is Amazing
Fans of Kevin Bacon will not be left out to dry. Bacon fits the role of officer Ryan Hardy like a glove.
2. This Show has Star Power
Bacon isn’t the only bit of star power that The Following has. The show boasts apperances by Shawn Ashmore, Maggie Grace and James Purefoy.
3. This Show Has a Good Ammount of Gore
Granted, it is scaled back back it is cable TV BUT I will tell you that there are at least 2 moments in the show where you will say “they can do that on TV?” and then you are like “Oh yeah, this show is on Fox. Never mind.”
4. There are a Ton of “OH CRAP!” Moments
I counted 4 times when I literally jumped from my seat and in my head yelled “OH CRAP! THAT WAS AMAZING!!”
I usually am not a fan of cop thrillers like this but I got to hand it to the writers, there is a HUGE cliffhanger that I did not see coming. I can without a doubt say I am hooked and will for sure be tuning in for the second episode.
6. The Show Was Written For Kevin Bacon
This came out during the Q+A but director Marcos Siega pointed out that the first step for getting this show made was to get Kevin Bacon on board. Once they did that the other pieces of the “The Following” puzzle came into place.
7. It Will Have a Mid-season Premiere
Fox will be rolling out “The Following” as part of it’s mid-season scheduling. You can look for it sometime in Janurary 2013.
8. Flashbacks Play a Key Role
During the Q+A Marcos Siega said that “The show almost reads like a sequel to the flashbacks.” Look for a ton of flashbacks that should shed some light on the development of the central characeters.
9. “The Second Episode Will Blow Your Mind”
That is a direct quote from Kevin Bacon himself during the panel discussion. I don’t know about you guys, but Bacon’s word is as good as gold in my book.
10. Kevin Bacon Plays an Alcholic
The show is made substantially funnier when you realize that Kevin Bacon is wasted during the whole show.
