‘Machete Kills’ May Get Axed

In an ironic twist of fate Deadline reports that Overnight Productions announced it is suing Robert Rodriguez’s Quick Draw Productions over the rights to Machete Kills (the sequel to the 2010 action flick ‘Machete’).

Essentially Machete producers are now looking to terminate their April 2012 agreement that allowed director and producer Rodriguez to make the sequel, claiming that they were not provided all of the financial and legal information necessary to determine all of the costs for the film.

If successful the lawsuit will likely put an axe to the movie’s intended 2013 release. A pity, too, seeing as it was looking to sport a cast that included not only the return of Jessica Alba but also Charlie Sheen, Sofia Vergara, Alexa Vega, Lady Gaga, Amber Heard and Mel Gibson.
