Bobby Brown Serves 55 Day Jail Sentence in Just NINE Hours

Bobby Brown DUI

Last month, we reported that Bobby Brown would be spending 55 days in jail after getting a DUI for the third time while driving on a suspended license. Well, the singer turned himself in on Wednesday, but was released after just eight hours behind bars, reports the TMZ.

The R&B singer checked into the Los Angeles County Jail at 9:58 a.m. on Wednesday and was released exactly nine hours later at 6:58 p.m., even though a sheriff’s spokesperson said a few days ago that he would serve at least nine days. Apparently the jail is bursting with inmates and just couldn’t find the space for a big Bobby Brown, and since the singer behaved so exceptionally well for those nine hours, he was released.

Brown isn’t entirely off the hook, though. He now has to wear an electronic ankle bracelet and be put under house arrest for eight days. What a punishment! In addition to the house arrest, the singer has to complete four years of probation, an 18-month alcohol treatment program and has to attend three AA meetings a week. An ignition interlock device will also be installed in his car.

Brown pleaded no contest in February for drunk driving on a suspended license after a previous drunk driving charge in October and another back in 1996.
