It’s been over a year since Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher separated, and yet it was only until Wednesday that Demi finally filed for divorce after Ashton did in December. With the divorce proceedings underway, Demi Moore stated in her papers that she has a few demands from Ashton, especially with spousal support and legal fees. Here are some quick facts about the couple’s divorce.

1. Demi Wants Ashton to Pay Up

According to the New York Post, Demi Moore stated in the legal docs that she will divorce Ashton Kutcher, but he may have to offer something in return. Demi is apparently demanding that she gets spousal support from her ex as well as to pay for her attorney fees. According to CelebNetWorth, the couple has a combined total of $290 million dollars in earnings with Demi making more than Ashton. However, Ashton seems to be making more after raking in $24 million for Two and a Half Men making him the highest paid actor on TV. A source told the Post that although  Ashton is making money through Demi, he feels that he “doesn’t owe her that much.”

TMZ reports that apparently Demi Moore reason for demanding spousal support and paying legal fees isn’t due to money. A source told the gossip site that Ashton Kutcher was a bad husband and that Demi Moore was “really hurt” by his actions.

Negotiations are presently being broken down for the court between Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. But according to TMZ, both sides are still making a settlement and hope to reach a satisfying agreement for both stars.

With the negotiations being passed back and forth, the Post reported that if both celebrities’ lawyers don’t reach an agreement soon, then they will have no choice but to go to trial. Insiders claim that the arguments between the two over financial settlement has been getting “hostile.”
