Before the 2013 MTV Movie Awards starts, MTV will take a look back at the life of Shain Gandee, the 21-year old star of the hit show ‘Buckwild’ who died tragically earlier this month. The tribute in honor of Shain Gandee will air at 8 p.m. ET tonight.
‘Buckwild: WV to the NYC’ follows a marathon of the seasons 12 episodes where fans will get to see footage from the casts trip to New York City. The MTV Movie Awards pre-show will start at 8:30 p.m.
MTV pulled the plug on ‘Buckwild’ a little more than a week after the sudden death of one of its stars, Shain Gandee. MTV released a statement saying ” We love the cast and the show and this was not an easy decision, but given Shain’s tragic passing and essential presence on the show, we felt it was not appropriate to continue without him. Instead, we are working on a meaningful way to pay tribute to his memory on our air and privately.”
