Rapper 50 Cent has been charged with domestic violence after allegedly kicking one of his ex-girlfriend’s last month and destroying property in her condo, reports TMZ.

According to Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is accused of causing $7,100 of the unnamed woman’s property in her Toluca Lake, California condo on June 23. When LAPD officials arrived at the scene, the woman told officials that she locked herself in the bathroom, which resulted in the rapper kicking the door down as well as kicking her.

TMZ also reported that the woman is the mother of one of the rapper’s children who he dated for three years, Daphne Joy.

50 Cent was not at the scene when cops arrived, but it is reported that he damaged chandeliers, furniture, a TV and a lamp during the altercation. He was charged with 1 count misdemeanor domestic violence and 4 counts of misdemeanor vandalism.

“Regardless of perceived celebrity or notoriety, domestic violence is a serious crime and alleged perpetrators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law by this office,” Feuer said.

If convicted, 50 could face up to five years in jail and $46,000 in fines.

His arraignment is on July 22.
