Oscar nominee Diane Lane will be starring in the title role as first lady, and, as reported by the source the series will “cover Clinton’s life as a wife, mother, politician, and Cabinet member from 1998 to the present.”

According to The Washington Post, the purpose of the series is to precede a potential run for presidency by the ex-former lady, secretary of state, in 2016. TVline even calls Clinton a “possible contender.” The source also reports, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt doesn’t know how the miniseries, meant to track Clinton’s political life all the way from 1998, will affect the next election.
