After undergoing surgery twice since 2011 forcing him to cancel his tour last year, according to The New York Times, John Mayer was back on stage at Marcus Amphitheatre on July 6th! And, he just so happened to dedicate his new song “A Face To Call Home” to a very special lady during his performance… Miss Katy Perry. Katy, 28, and John, now 35, have been dating on and off since around December. But, according to The Huffington Post, they took a break in August — only soon to be spotted together again in September. Maybe the love roller coaster between these two is what inspired John to write his new song in the first place… he announced to the audience that his song was “to Katy, who is my face to call home.”

Before he sang it, according to ET Online, he also said this:

I was just getting to know this girl, she was more incredible than I ever thought. She would order for me, and she would tell people, ‘It’s nice to meet you.’ When I was in Montana and I wasn’t speaking with really bad phone service… she was so patient as to even continue to get to know me and love me.

John is quite the romantic! Sniff. So… are Katy Perry and John Mayer back in the saddle again?

It looks like we may have to wait to find out …

On a side note, Katy posted a flirty pic of herself wrapped in some guy’s arms on Instagram on July 4th… could it be John?
