Over 10 years after Robin Thicke released his debut album, the singer scored his fist No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with Blurred Lines on Wednesday, reports Billboard.
Blurred Lines is Thicke’s sixth studio album and tops the charts with 177,000 copies sold, according to figures from Nielson SoundScan. The album also marks the singer’s best sales week ever. The title is led by his single of the same name, which has been one of summer’s biggest hits and spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
The 36-year-old son of Canadian actor Alan Thicke released his first album, A Beautiful World, in 2003, and spent one week on the chart at No. 152.
Thicke beat out rock band Five Finger Death Punch who also claims its best sales week. The band’s album, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell: Volume 1 debuted at No. 2 with 112,000 copies sold. No. 3 this week is Jay Z’s Magna Carta… Holy Grail, which slipped down one with 62,000.
