The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran has popped the question to his girlfriend Nareesha and she has said yes, but the proposal was not as simple as that. Check out the 5 Fast Facts on Siva’s proposal and his new fiancee Nareesha.

1. Siva Flipped the Script on Nareesha

In an exclusive chat with Hello!, Siva revealed the details of how he asked girlfriend Nareesha to marry him. The news source writes that:

After discovering shoe designer Nareesha was about to spring a surprise family birthday party for him, he stunned her by secretly turning the event into a surprise engagement party for her instead. After enlisting the help of her close family, Siva got down on bended knee with a three carat diamond solitaire ring he’d had specially designed, and asked her to be his wife.

2. None of Siva’s Band-Mates Knew About the Proposal

Apparently, Siva kept his proposal secret because he didn’t want the news of it to get to Nareesha before the event. Siva explains how he popped the question: I said to her I wanted a present I would always remember this year by… for you to be my wife. It was like a military operation to plan the proposal. I couldn’t even tell the other boys in the band in case they blew the surprise.

3. Nareesha Said “No” When Siva Proposed

Nareesha tends to wear the pants in the relationship, but Siva nearly collapsed when Nareesha actually said “no” to his sweet proposal. Siva revealed that he almost fainted when his fiancee turned him down in front of everyone. Since her first response, Nareesha has changed her mind saying:

I don’t like surprises and he really surprised me, but I was so happy. I can’t wait to start planning the wedding.

We get not liking surprises, but give your man a break, right? Poor Siva.

4. The Couple Starred Together on Reality Show The Wanted Life

The E! channel produced a show called “The Wanted Life”, which followed around boy band The Wanted as they lived together in a mansion. The band stayed in Los Angeles and Siva’s girlfriend Nareesha was in tow, as was boy-bander Tom’s girlfriend. Check out this adorable clip of the couple on an episode of the show.

5. This Was a Long Time Coming

While some fans may be surprised by the proposal, it’s actually not that far-fetched to imagine because Siva and Nareesha have been dating for over 6 years. Shoe designer Nareesha fully supports her future hubby in his singing, as does he in her design career.
