According to TMZ, Chris Brown was back in court for a progress hearing in the Rihanna beating case. Here’s all you need to know about what the LA court said and the progress the rapper has made.
1. He’s Been Diagnosed With Bipolar Disorder, Insomnia & PTSD
TMZ reported that the facility had this to say about his diagnosis:
Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD.
2. He Just Finished 95 Days of Anger Management Therapy in California

According to E News, even though Brown had completed his court-ordered 90 days, a judge ordered him to stay at the facility for more treatment.
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, he said:
I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident and that time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she has and she’s a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful.
3. The NY Post Reports He’s Been Texting Rihanna Since Her Birthday
The Post reported that the texting began on Rihanna’s birthday, February 20th. A source close to the couple said,
Chris started texting Rihanna on her birthday, and the two have been sending each other a flurry of texts ever since.
Rihanna didn’t write back right away . . . but later that night she started getting sentimental and texted back, ‘thank you,’ and asked how he was. Since then, the two haven’t stopped texting each other and friends are freaked out that she’s going to start dating him again.

He also told Seacrest how he was trying to win back his fans, saying,
I can’t go around blaming. It’s all about my responsibility and me growing up as a man. So I think now that I’m becoming older, and trying to mature in this life under the public eye at all times, I have to focus on doing the right thing and being more of a humble individual.
During therapy, he tested negative for all drugs.
5. His Trial Date is Set for April 17
In 2009, he was sentenced to five years’ probation, community labor and domestic violence counseling after his assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna. According to Tribune, he was arrested again in October of last year for October for allegedly punching a man trying to take a picture with him, breaking his nose.
