Sister Cristina Scuccia appeared on the Italian version of The Voice this week and killed it. Read on for the facts on the singing nun who’s in it to win it.
1. Sister Cristina Scuccia Shocked the Judges in the Blind Auditions
The 25-year-old singing nun stunned viewers when she sang an amazing rendition of “No One” by Alicia Keys. Have a look at the video footage in the above show clip and see the surprise on the judges’ faces when they see the identity of the contestant. It’s priceless.
Scuccia had the entire place in an uproar of excitement, with standing ovations from the crowd. One of the judges was even teary-eyed.
2. Scuccia’s Goal Is to Share her Gift

While winning the competition would be nice, Scuccia told the judges that her true goal on the show is this:

3. The Ursuline Sisters of the Holy Family are Behind Their Sister
Fellow sisters from the Ursuline Sisters of the Holy Family cheered on Scuccia as she performed on The Voice and are said to be very supportive.

Sister Scuccia has joined Team J-Ax, an Italian rapper for one simple reason. E! News reports that Scuccia decided before she stepped onto the stage that she would choose whichever judge turned around first, so she went with J-Ax. J-Ax told Scuccia:
If I had found you at Mass I would always be in church.
J-Ax is using the hashtag #SisterAx to support his contestant. Is anyone else having Sister Act flashbacks?
5. She’s Hoping Pope Francis Was Watching
Apparently, Scuccia was asked what the Vatican would think of her performance and she joked:
I hope that Pope Francis will call me now.
