Presently, Coleman has federal charges against him for scamming Virginia Commonwealth University and he’s also under investigation for possible other scams as well. Times Dispatch gives details on Coleman’s scandal with VCU:

Caitlin R. Kelly, the prosecutor, said Coleman portrayed himself as a well-connected executive producer in the hip hop world and went to elaborate lengths when he contacted VCU to set up a Dec. 10 event at which Big Sean would speak with students … Coleman went into the auditorium and spoke with the students for several minutes using a fake British accent, passing himself off as a British producer. At that point, the VCU students were told that Big Sean had another engagement elsewhere and would not be coming to speak with them, Kelly said.

Coleman is currently living with his grandmother while he is out on bond.

The judge would like to find out if Coleman was sane at the time that the crime was committed against VCU.

4. MTV’s Catfish Exposes Coleman Through a Victim Named Lucille

On tonight’s episode of Catfish, a woman named Lucille takes hosts Nev and Max on a journey to find out who the real Kidd Cole is after she loses money in his many scams. Have a look at the above clip to get a glimpse at the episode.

People wrote about another victim of Coleman revealed on the MTV show:

When Nev, Max and Lucille meet one of these victims, Loretta, a limo driver from Washington, D.C., she tells the trio how Kidd Cole robbed her of $8,000 by using her luxury car service on several occasions and disappearing once the bills arrived.

So, what happens when Coleman is confronted? People writes:

When confronted with his own evil deeds, Kidd Cole – or Stone-Col Jerez – claims he’s legit and invites the group to visit him in the studio the following day. When the trio arrive at the basement studio of a random house, it is clear this is another one of Jerez’s ruses. The “rapper” is unable to work the recording gear and a business partner also in the studio admits that Jerez asked him to pose as a professional.

  1. He suffers from bipolar. No cure but treated with a cocktail of meds. He is manic in the catfish episode (thinks he is famous and thinks his stuff is original). Take your meds Jerez .. You will feel better and control your mania better. I feel like the show should have mentioned he could be mentally ill and gave awareness to get help… But they totally didn’t realize he might be untreated for his mental disease and kept trying to find out why he does this .. Like he rationally and intelligently is doing this. The why is he is untreated for most likely manic depression .. Rapid cycling (more than four episodes a year)
