Casey Kasem is missing according to multiple media reports. A judge in Los Angeles has ordered a full-investigation into the whereabouts of the TV legend, reports Fox News. Kasem suffers badly from Parkinsons disease and can no longer speak. Kasem is one of the biggest stars in the history of American radio thanks to his weekly Top 40 show. He also provided the voice of Shaggy in Scooby Doo.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. He Had Been Under the Care of His Wife
Recently Kasem was being treated for his condition at various clinics, all of which were chosen by his wife, Jean, reports ABC Los Angeles.
2. The Kasem Family Are in a Fierce Legal Battle
There has been a family feud over Kasem’s condition and treatment. His daughter, Kerri, won a court case to become Kasem’s caretaker on May 13. According to her attorney, Troy Martin, they believe Kasem is on an Indian reservation in Washington state, reports the AP.
3. His Daughters Think Jean Knows Where Their Father Is
His wife’s lawyer, Craig Marcus, was asked point blank in court where Kasem was to which he replied, “I have no idea where he is.” Marcus also contended that Jean Kasem should be free to move her husband wherever she wants. Two of Kasem’s daughters were in court at the time and protested this statement. Kerri Kasem made an official release where she said:
I believe my father’s wife fled the country (or possibly went to an Indian Reservation) with my Dad because she knew I would win in court today. The judge ordered, Adult Protective Services, the PVP Attorney and the police to look for him.
Please pray that he is safe.
Kasem has three children with his first wife, Linda Myers, and one with Jean Kasem.
