The actress and her co stars’ ever- growing fan base is causing quite the upheaval.
When Season 4 ended, that episode earned the honor of being the most tweeted telecast of 2014.
With Season 5 beginning on June 10, the question “Who is A?” on everyone’s minds.
When asked who the cyberbully “A” is, Benson told Complex:
I honestly have no clue. I keep telling the writers to make me A because I’m so annoyed that we don’t know who it is. I don’t know when we’ll ever find out. We’re in the middle of the first episode of season five right now, and we do get to find out another person is part of the A team, but it doesn’t solve any problems.
As we tune in to the new season, let’s take a look at the career and personal life of the 24-year-actress.
1. She Plays Hanna on ‘PLL’
— On finals :// (@i_got_selena) June 10, 2014
The Orange County native landed the role at 19.
On the popular ABC Family series, she plays Hanna, who went from once being overweight, to one of the most popular girls in school.
When Cosmo asked her is she’s like her character, she said:
The only way I’m similar to her is that she’s sarcastic and she’s always having fun — that’s me too. Once, I stuck gum on Keegan Allen’s coat collar, so when he leaned back, it got caught in his hair.
The down-to-earth starlet doesn’t let fame go to her head.
In fact, she said,
A lot of 24-year-olds in Hollywood like to go out and party and get wasted at clubs, and that’s such a gross look to me. I’m a total grandma. I just want to eat, watch a movie, and go to sleep.
Before landing the role that’s made her a household name, she starred in the soap opera Days of Our Lives.
2. She Had a 3-Way Scene with Franco
In the above scene from Spring Breakers, we see the actress alongside James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens in a pool engaging in frisky behavior.
This was her first-ever sex scene, and they tried to keep it tame.
I don’t think I would have been able to do it without her, just because I’d never shot a sex scene before, let alone a three-way. We were pretty adamant about not showing everything.
When it comes to nudity, Benson is adamant about her stance. She told the magazine, “I make it clear that I have a line. Everyone tries to push you, and it’s easy to get talked into doing those things. I’ll just walk off-set: ‘If that’s the way it’s going to be, then you can do it without me.'”
3. She Dates Bieber’s Ex Swagger Coach
— uniquehandbagsboutiq (@UniqueHandbag) December 24, 2013
She is in a relationship with Ryan Good, former assistant to Usher, who quickly became responsible for the style of Usher’s protege, Justin Bieber.
“I have a swagger coach that helps me and teaches me different swaggerific things to do,” the Biebs told Kansas City Star.
The couple has an on-and-off-again relationship. Benson has commented that her grueling work schedule proved hard on them as a couple.
Ryan is one of the strongest people I’ve met, so grounded and such a positive influence on people. We took a break because it was so hard. I work 20 hour days, so I’m always gone. So a lot of your relationship is on the phone and iChatting and trying to catch up.

4. She Brought It On
Benson played a cheer captain in Bring It On: In It to Win It. Although she had never cheered before, she had years of dance experience that helped her with the physicality of the role.
For the movie, she did her own stunts, saying, “I actually had to do all my own stunts in the movie so we had to do tricks and flyers, it was crazy. I had to learn to be strong and not loose like you normally are as a dancer.”
In an interview with Esquire, she talked about her resistance to the Bring It On franchise:
I’ve never seen any of these, by the way. Except the one I’m in. And just barely, because I looked so ridiculous as a cheerleader.
5. She Plays the Ex in a Hot Chelle Rae Video
She is the dramatic ex girlfriend in the video for “Honestly” by Hot Chelle Rae.
Appearing in the first seconds of the video, she says to her boyfriend, “You’re focusing on video games right now,” and proceeds to throw her man’s clothes out the window.
The break-up anthem starts with:
Honestly, why are my clothes out on the street?
Honestly, I think you’ve lost your mind
I can’t believe I came home to find my car keyed
Honestly I’m way too tired to fight
