Channing Tatum has qualities that every woman wants to find in a man. Lucky for Jenna Dewan-Tatum, she grabbed onto him in 2006, before he wowed ladies worldwide with his charm.

And it’s apparent that their deep love and commitment is here to stay.

Tatum’s costar in Dear John, Amanda Seyfried, put it best when she said, “Everybody wants to have sex with him. And the only person he wants to have sex with is his wife, Jenna. He’s the most loyal husband.”

Here’s what you should know about Tatum, Dewan and their fairytale romance.

1. They Met on the Set of ‘Step Up’

The couple met while filming Step Up, the 2006 dance flick, in which she played a high school dancer and he was doing community service at her school.

Although their crazy chemistry is apparent on screen, Tatum was reluctant to make his move. With Dewan, he knew it wouldn’t be just a casual relationship.

He told Elle, “I had just gotten out of a pretty long relationship, so I was in no way ready for another. I was trying to run from what I knew Jenna was — not someone I was just going to date.”

One of his friends talked him into taking the plunge, and “that night I showed up at her hotel room with a sombrero on, and that was it.”

The couple married in 2009 in Malibu, using their shared love of fairies in their wedding planning.

Entourage’s Emmanuelle Chriqui was Dewan’s maid of honor, and Haylie Duff was a bridesmaid.

2. They Have a Baby Daughter Named Everly

Tatum dished to GQ that they basically got pregnant the first time they tried:

Then we had sort of a crazy, harebrained idea to try to have a kid, and it happened the first time, basically.

The couple welcomed their first child, Everly, in 2013, and Dewan said it’s made their union even stronger.

“As a whole, it just forces you to become a little closer, because you have to be on the same page with everything when it comes to making decisions,” she told Us.

Everly just turned 1, and Dewan sent this tweet:

As far as the prospect of more children goes, Dewan, 33, welcomes the idea.

She told Us:

I do want to have more kids if it’s in the cards for us. But right now we’re trying to get into the groove and enjoy our little baby that we have now. We’ll see what the future has in store for us.

3. Chan Says Jenna Loves His ‘Magic Mike’ Moves

It’s common knowledge that Tatum worked as a stripper as a teen and loosely based his character in Magic Mike on his past.

He told A.V. Club, “It’s not my biopic or anything. But it’s just sort of the world I experienced. The only thing that’s factual is that I was an 18-year-old kid, and I had a sister, and I dropped out of college, and that’s it.”

Tatum admitted that he was playing the field while he was a stripper. “When I was stripping, I wasn’t with anyone. That’s not an occupation you have when you’re monogamous,” he told Elle.

Now that he is in a committed relationship, people tend to ask him what his wife thinks of his stripping.

“She loves it. Look, she married a stripper. She kind of knew what she was in for,” he said in the interview above.

That’s good to hear because with the sequel, Magic Mike XXL, out in 2015, there will be more gyrations in Tatum’s future.

4. They Know How to Make Marriage Work

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the ever-doting husband was asked the secret to their long-lasting marriage.

He said, “You have to want it. Jenna’s and my thing is checking in with each other all the time, like ‘On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you love me right now?'”

With their busy schedules, they carve out time to be together.

“My wife and I go camping. There are no cell phones, no TV, no iPad, no nothing. We just sit by the campfire, and sip wine or beer, and talk,” Tatum told Glamour.

It doesn’t hurt that they are still very attracted to one another.

When he was named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2012, she said:

That’s special because it says he’s achieved so much in his career and in his life that makes this award a possibility. But he’s always been the Sexiest Man Alive to me.

5. They Also Costarred in ’10 Years’

The couple shared the screen in 10 Years, playing a married couple.

Tatum’s character goes to his 10-year reunion and sees his ex, played by Rosario Dawson.

The real-life couple had an enjoyable time improvising on set.

Dewan said, “We ended up just playing. We felt very playful. We improvised a lot of scenes and figured it out as we went. It was sort of like we got to go to the set and just play.”

She told Wonderwall:

It was really just that we started [our relationship] working together, so we already knew that we work well together. But we didn’t really put this grand [emphasis on it] like, ‘Oh my goodness, this is the next time we’re gonna be seen together in a film.’ We didn’t put that kind of pressure on us or on the movie, which I think was really good.
