True Blood‘s Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin took their on-screen chemistry off-screen right away.
As vampires Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton on the HBO supernatural drama, they fell in love while, literally, biting into each other’s necks.
Their co-star, Rutina Wesley, who plays Tara Thornton, told Redbook, “It’s adorable to see them steal away for a minute on the set or just gaze into each other’s eyes.”
As the show comes to a close at the end of this season, let’s take a closer look at the stars’ relationship.
1. They Met on the Set of ‘True Blood’
Their chemistry was undeniable, even during the pilot.
Moyer told Redbook how they started, by eating with each other after work.
“When we were filming the pilot, we were the only two actors who didn’t live in Los Angeles, so we ended up going to dinner almost every night,” he said.
However, when the taping was over and they returned to their respective cities, he missed her. So they Skyped every night for three or four hours.
“It felt so weird not to talk to her,” he said. “So we began Skyping and have been together ever since.”
Moyer, who is 12 years older than Paquin, already had two children. But that didn’t stop them from getting engaged in August of 2009.
2. He Doesn’t Mind Her Having Sex Scenes With Others

Moyer directed the premiere of True Blood’s last and current season.
There is a love scene between his wife and Joe Manganiello of Magic Mike.
Paquin assured EW, “It’s not as awkward as you would think.”
If you were to picture the perfect day at work for your spouse, would that be it? Probably not, but this is just kind of how it’s always been. So it doesn’t feel as bizarre.
Moyer doesn’t seem to mind, either, and told the magazine, “There are moments where I’ll be watching the monitor [and say] ‘Oh, Joe, just move your hand up towards Anna’s breast.’ And can you move your thumb just a little bit towards her nipple? Great.”
3. Anna Is Bisexual
Paquin revealed her sexuality in this PSA for the Give a Damn campaign. In the announcement, Paquin calls herself bisexual.
In an interview with V Magazine, she talked about it, saying, “Frankly, no one had ever asked me before. My sexuality is something I’m completely comfortable with and open about. Who people choose to sleep with – or spend their lives with – shouldn’t matter.”
An ever-supportive husband, Moyer stands by his wife.
In an interview with Playboy, he shared:
I’ve never been in a relationship before in which, literally within the first three days, all the cards were laid out. It wasn’t something that was kept from me. I condone what she has done 100 percent, and it’s her business to talk about it, not mine. It doesn’t change anything. I’m proud of who she is.
4. They Have Twins

Paquin gave birth to fraternal twins in September of 2012.
The babies were born prematurely, and Moyer shared at BAFTA in 2013:
It’s all so amazing and [they] had a tough start. They were early and it was touch and go there for a while, and so anything is amazing. I was just saying they are spitting up their first solid food. It’s fantastic.
The couple managed to keep their names private until nine months after their birth.
At time of their birth, Moyer’s two older children, with journalist Lorien Haynes, Billy and Lilac, were already 13 and 11.
“My kids have been with us a lot, so Anna already had a huge understanding of that, she’s very much part of their lives,” Moyer gushed to ABC.
5. She Loves That He’s British

In an interview with Red, Paquin said her husband’s “as English as they come, very polite, very well-mannered. He’s a very nice English husband — and very attractive.”
