Hicks has always been a good friend of Humphries, and sat behind the couple at their wedding reception. On Monday, Hicks spoke out and claimed that he slept with the Kardashian star in Monaco, where he was vacationing with the Humphries family. Kardashian was engaged to the pro-basketball player at the time.

In 2011, it was announced that Humphries lost hundreds of thousands of dollars from a bad investment he made with Hicks. Hicks was subsequently charged with wire fraud and sentenced to 40 months in prison. The ordeal unsurprisingly ruined his friendship with Humphries.

2. Kim Kardashian’s Lawyer Called Him a ‘Swindling Liar’ In a Letter

When Hicks spoke to Perez Hilton about sleeping with Kardashian, he said he was not trying get back at Humphries:

No. I’m a little too tired and a little too old for petty bullshit….Listen, I went to prison for fraud, not for my reputation for trustworthiness. The tales I told to get there would make the brothers grimm blush. My whole life is on the web right now for anyone to read. Every painful little detail. So it’s a question of who to believe.

TMZ reported that Kardashian did not sleep with Hicks and that the entire claim was a lie. Kardashian’s lawyer, Marty Singer, sent a letter to Hicks in which he called him a “swindling convict and liar” and a “greedy capitalist who went to jail for a greedy scheme.”

Hicks claims that the whole event went down in Monaco. He says that one night, after Kim and Humphries were fighting, Kardashian went out on a yacht while Hicks went to a casino in Monte Carlo with his girlfriend, who was traveling with them. He says that a car service picked everyone up later to bring them back to the vila they were staying in, when Kardashian asked Hicks to stay behind so they could chat.

He told Perez:

I didn’t really know what to say or do but before I could figure anything out she grabbed my hand and came in close. I hesitated for a minute. Everything was running through my head at a million miles an hour. I’m not exactly a good human being, I came to terms with that long before prison came along, but I’d like to think I was above hooking up with my friends new fiance. Well, I wasn’t.

4. He Dropped Out of Harvard After 3 Semesters

Multiple sources have reported that Hicks was kicked out of Harvard for poor academic performance, tagging on that he received a D- in a math class. And in the letter that Kardashian’s lawyer reportedly sent Hicks, he calls Hicks out for claiming he has a Ph.D. in math from the Ivy League school:

…you dropped out of Harvard after three semesters and earned a D- in the only math course you took at Harvard.

5. He’s Broke

Hicks came out and admitted that he is broke to the “bare foundations” before calling himself a “greedy capitalist.” Perez was trying to find out whether Hicks started spreading rumors about sleeping with Kim to get money, and he never really answered the question:

I’d like to put more in that jar…I’m not exactly doing it to save the manatees and this isn’t Watergate. I’m airing out one person’s dirty laundry to make way to air out a whole cellar full. What do I say? Buy the book. I’m a greedy capitalist who went to jail for a greedy scheme which happened in a greedy industry. It’s the American way.

Hicks claims that in the situation, he did what any warm blooded man would do with Kim Kardashian pressed up against him.
