Legendary comedian Joan Rivers is in a New York City hospital after she stopped breathing during a throat surgery, reports the Daily News.

1. Rivers’ Heart Stopped Beating
Rivers was undergoing throat surgery on her vocal chords when the complication arose, according to TMZ. The gossip site says that her heart stopped beating, it’s unclear if paramedics were able to restart it.
2. She Was Rushed to Another Hospital
Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital. Page Six reports that a 911 call from the clinic where Rivers was having surgery said “We have somebody in either cardiac or respiratory arrest.” NBC New York reports that the vocal chord surgery was taking place at the Yorkville Endoscopy on East 93rd Street.
3. Rivers Suffers from Osteoporosis
She is 81 years old and lives in Manhattan. In 2002, Rivers was diagnosed with Osteoporosis.
4. Her Daughter Is Rushing to Be by Her Side
TMZ says that her daughter, Melissa, is en route to New York City.
