She left the sketch comedy after less than two seasons. When she exited, E! News reported that she was asked to lose 30 pounds, but didn’t.

In a statement to People, Wilson said, “I had an amazing time on SNL, and these rumors are completely untrue. And to clarify, the issue isn’t that I’m too fat, it’s that I’m too phat. Can I get a WHAT-WHAT!”

The actress got over it, and is enjoying a successful career.
“They didn’t ask me back and, at the time, I think I knew I wasn’t quite the right fit,” she told Us Weekly.

She added that her bucket list includes to one day host the show.

3. She’s Also Known for ‘Happy Endings’

The sitcom ran from 2011 to 2013, and was canceled before its fourth season due to low ratings.

Wilson played Penny, a thirtysomething on the dating scene. Her character, she told Slate, was perfect for her. “…I loved the idea that this character of Penny is single but not jaded. I thought, That’s true to life and to my friends and funny. She’s not a dark, bitter, black-hoodie-wearing single girl—she’s not that,” she said.

In an interview with vh1, she expressed her sadness that the show had come to an end.

“It’s like going to college and everyone leaves and goes to their jobs and it’s like, aren’t we all going to be together again? We’d love to find a way to work together again, believe me, I’m trying. I’ll be lucky if I can get these guys at my wedding,” she said.

4. She Has a Writing Partner

Her co writer is fellow actress and comedienne June Diane Raphael, who she met in college. Together they penned Bride Wars and The Bachelorette Party.

To get interesting life experiences that can influence their comedy, the girls like to do diverse things.

Wilson dished to Slate about some of their adventures:

[June and I] try to do a lot of things together, like take weird classes. We took an S Factor stripping class this year. We started a book club. We’ll just do any old thing. Just because there’s something funny for us about exposing ourselves to the weirdoes of the world. It’s given us just a wealth of material. Then we just sit in a room together and try to make each other laugh and struggle to stay on task, and struggle to work instead of talking. She’s very busy with her career and I’m busy, so ultimately we’ll split things up and send things back and forth. We share a sensibility about what’s skewed or the weird thing about whatever’s going on in the moment, so we like to experience those awkward things together and write about them.

5. She Spoofs the ‘Housewives’

Wilson plays Tawny, a trophy wife who married a much older man.
