J. Cole Releasing New Album on December 9

Roc Nation and Dreamville Records rapper J. Cole announced via Twitter the followup to his 2013 album Born Sinner, titled 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Cole has announced there will be no singles in the three-week buildup prior to the 2014 Forest Hills Drive release.

2014 Forest Hills Drive will release the same day as Lil’ Wayne’s Tha Carter V, on December 9, putting him in direct competition with the YMCMB MC. Along with announcing his latest album’s release, Cole also released seven-minute trailer (watch it below), giving some insight on the project, stating, “I’ve gotten to this point in my career and realized that, I got a lot more dreams and I want to go further, but at the same time I don’t want it if it’s at the expense of my happiness. And I don’t want it if it’s at the expense of my sanity or if I have to become someone, who’s so out of touch with, what’s real. The people that love you and the people that you love. There’s a lot of people in Hollywood right now who have been there for a long time and they’ve forgotten about their small town lives, because they like this life better. But, this sh** ain’t real.”
