It’s quite common for celebrities to date other people in the entertainment industry, so it comes as no surprise to know that that’s how Eric Church came to know his wife. Taste of Country reports:

Eric Church fell in love with another member of the music business. But Katherine Blasingame was not a songwriter or singer. She worked for a publishing company that pitched songs to artists.

Church talked about how he met his wife to Taste of Country stating:

She was trying to hook me up to write with one of her writers that she represented, that was how we met. It’s great now, because being a publisher and being somebody in the industry, I can bounce songs off of her and she has the knowledge, you know, to be kind of that sounding board of what I should cut and what I shouldn’t cut. So, she’s one of those in the inner circle that I run a lot of stuff by.

There’s a song on this record called ‘She Loves Me Like Jesus Does’ that was a favorite of hers that I didn’t write. It’s the only song in my career that I cut that I didn’t write, and it’s because of her. She found the song and played it for me and I loved it too.

What woman wouldn’t love their man to write her a song. When it came to their wedding, Church did just that for his bride. Church dished about his song “You Make It Look Easy,” revealing:

That’s the song I wrote for my wedding. My wife Katherine didn’t know I was writing something for the wedding and neither did I. I hate love songs. I have a hard time with them. I think they’ve been done so many times, and I hate stuff that’s just your clichés. I thought, “There’s got to be another way to do this.”I decided that the best way was to just be honest. There’s a “drink too much” line in there. That’s honest. At the wedding is the first time Katherine really heard the whole thing. She cried. Everybody cried. That’s me baring my soul, there.
