Selena Gomez’s music video “The Heart Wants What It Wants” made headlines as fans speculated that it was all about her ex Justin Bieber. In the music video, Selena is seen crying over her heartbreak. Tonight at the 2014 American Music Awards, Gomez gave her first performance of the song. The song started off with audio of Selena talking about her heart ache. Then, Gomez was revealed in a flowy, nude-colored max-dress with a high slit. Gomez was alone on stage with a variety of graphics on a screen behind her. The coolest part was when angel wings appeared behind her and looked like they were attached to her as she was performing.
At the end of her performance, Gomez appeared to be fighting back tears.
