Stereo Kicks Eliminated on ‘The X Factor UK’

Boy band Stereo Kicks has been booted off The X Factor UK and we’re all sad to see them go, but the competition is narrowing each week. The boys sang for their lives tonight against fellow contestant Lauren Platt, but ultimately, they were sent home. You can check out the sing-off in the above video.

As far as how the sing-off went, Click Music reports:

An emotional Lauren sang a surprisingly strong version of ‘I Know Where I’ve Been’ from Hairspray. Lauren’s never been in the bottom two before, but it shouldn’t take a situation like this for her to sing this well. Stereo Kicks chose to sing ‘I Won’t Give Up’ by Jason Mraz, but made the strange decision to let Tom Mann lead it with his niche voice. He struggled with the melody and the boys never really recovered until Reece and James took the reins.

The Mirror writes:

With the judges split on who to send home, the vote was taken to deadlock meaning Louis Walsh’s last remaining act was sent home.

This is how the judges’ voting all went down according to Click Music:

Simon saw sense and backed Lauren, voting to send home Stereo Kicks. But Dermot revealed that the boys had received the fewest votes and would be leaving the competition tonight after finding themselves in the bottom two several times. And with that, Louis Walsh’s hopes for the super-group suffered a serious setback.

Remaining in the competition now are Andrea Faustini, Lauren Platt, Ben Haenow, and Fleur East.
