Missy Elliott - Super Bowl 2015 Performer
Missy Elliott is reported to be a surprise performer at the 2015 Super Bowl, alongside Katy Perry and guest performer Lenny Kravitz. Perry had hinted to Elliott's appearance saying that she was bringing an old-school female rapper into the mix. In her career, Elliott has sold over 30 million records and has won five Grammy Awards. She's also the only female rapper to have six albums certified platinum by the RIAA. Her most well-known hits are "Work It" and "Get Your Freak On". Growing up, Elliott was the class clown, but she knew she wanted to become a performer. And, just because she was goofy, it didn't mean she wasn't smart. Elliott actually skipped two grades in school. Elliott endured a lot of pain growing up with her father being very abusive to her mother and having to live in poverty. When Elliott was 14 years old, she and her mother escaped from home. Elliott occasionally talks to her father, but never forgave him for the abuse. She says her mother's strength has made her strong, becoming the successful woman she is today - an iconic music artist with a net worth of $50 million.
Children For Elliott?
Elliott loves children, but she was originally fearful of giving birth and said she would rather adopt. Elliott once stated: I don't know if I can take that kind of pain [of labor]. Maybe in the year 2020 you could just pop a baby out and it'd be fine. But right now I'd rather just adopt. In 2012, Elliott revealed that she actually has two sons. She said on RapFix Live: I love kids but you know how you can take them back to their mom and dad when they get to actin up? Well I gave god kids that I love dearly and then when they start crying and going in the store and ripping down stuff cause they can’t get it, then you call they momma and they daddy and you good. The two children ended up being her dogs - two Yorkies.
