The 2015 premiere episode of the TV show Intervention begins with a woman named Katie. Read on for the facts on Katie’s episode and her drug use.
1. Katie Was an Irish Dancer Before Her Addiction Took Over

The synopsis of her episode reads, “A woman who was once an elite Irish dancer resists her family’s efforts to save her from a life of cocaine and heroin addiction … Katie was the star of her family. She was smart, outgoing and traveled the world as an elite Irish dancer. It could have made it her career – but she got derailed into a life of cocaine and heroin addiction.”
Katie uses 2 grams of heroin a day in addition to other drugs.
2. She’s Been Doing Drugs For a Year

Katie tells cameras that she’s only been doing drugs for about a year, but that she feels that smoking crack is an “in the meantime” hobby of hers … between when she’s handling her other drugs. Katie says that she does drugs so much that she says it’s hard for her to feel like she’s high. Katie calls it getting “unsick.”
3. Her Boyfriend Is Her Supplier

According to the A&E Network:
Katie is now a shell of her former self, living with her boyfriend who deals drugs and supplies her with a weekly $2,000 fix.
Katie and her boyfriend Andre live in project housing and she says that they argue every day, but haven’t had sex in months. Andre says Katie depends on him.
4. Katie Wears Dentures

The drugs have taken such a toll on Katie’s body that she wears dentures and she’s only 28 years old. She also only weighs about 90 pounds and is extremely thin. She injects her drugs in her arms and wrists, but refuses to inject herself in her groin and legs because she thinks that’s gross.
Katie says it’s her crack use that completely ruined and deteriorated her teeth. Her dad actually stepped up to pay for her dentures.
5. She Has Gone to Rehab 13 Times

Katie’s siblings and father are beside themselves when it comes to her drug use. She’s be in and out of rehab, having checked in 13 times, relapsing each time. Her family cannot understand how she got into such a horrible situation with addiction.
