WWE WrestleMania 31 Matchups Preview: Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins

The Build Up

There was once a time where Triple H and Stephanie McMahon placed all their best on “The Viper” Randy Orton. When Orton’s stock began to fall, HHH looked to produce a new star for The Authority. He made the decision to choose the one member of a stable he once did battle with – Seth Rollins. Rollins fulfilled his potential by becoming the 2014 Money in the Bank and a future WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the making. Of course, the inclusion of Rollins into The Authority didn’t sit too well with Randy Orton. Both men engaged in some brawls, one for instance that resulted in Orton being laid out and put on the injured reserves for months. Now that Orton has returned, he’s back for revenge against his old stable mate. Both men have torn into each other for weeks. At WrestleMania 31, Orton and Rollins will settle their heated score.

How The Match Will Unfold

There won’t be a lot of wrist locks and headlocks here. Get ready to see both Superstars brawl on the outside for a bit and finally lay in some stiffer shots once they’re inside the ring. Orton will be the one to get the majority of offense in this contest. He’s been terrorizing Rollins and his cronies for weeks now, which is something we expect to see happen again during this bout. But Mania 31 is not the night to sleep on Rollins’ skills and tenacity. He’ll eventually make his stand against Orton and use his high-flying maneuvers to fend off Orton. Near the closing moments of this match, Orton will go on a tear as he rips into Rollins and lays out J&J Security with RKO’s. But Orton’s misguided focus on Rollins’ security will cost him the win. Rollins will capture this huge solo Mania 31 win through nefarious means. Rollins will still eat an RKO after the bell rings, though.

What Happens in the Future

Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins

This feud shall continue! But here’s the extra wrench that will be thrown into this whole storyline – we think Rollins will successfully cash in his MITB contract for a shot against Roman Reigns the next night on RAW. Rollins will almost be on the verge of winning the title, but Orton will interject and destroy Rollins’ championship aspirations. This of course will set off Rollins even more. We can all look forward to seeing Orton vs. Rollins is some type of match with hardcore rules at the next PPV. We think Orton will get the last laugh during this extended beef.
