Actor and musician Drake Bell drew the ire of many Twitter users when he tweeted Monday “Sorry….still calling you Bruce.”

The tweet was a reaction to the emergence of Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, who revealed herself in a Vanity Fair article.

Bell, 28, is best known for his role on the Nickolodeon show Drake and Josh, which aired from 2004 to 2007.

After he was bombarded by angry responses, Bell deleted the tweet, but not before it was retweeted thousands of times. Screenshots of the tweet continue to circulate.

2. Bell Launched a Music Career After His TV Show Ended

Bell started band in 2003, while still working on his TV show, and performed the Drake & Josh theme song. He released his first album in 2005. His most recent album was released in 2014.


3. He Filed For Bankruptcy Earlier This Year

According to the Huffington Post, Bell filed for bankruptcy in January and reportedly owes nearly $600,000 in debt. He made more than $400,000 in 2012, but his income dropped to about $14,000 in 2013.

His million-dollar California home was going through foreclosure last August, according to Zillow.


4. He Broke His Wrist Earlier This Year in a Pool Accident, Threatening His Career

Bell said that a broken wrist suffered in a pool accident threatened his career, after doctors said he might not be able to play guitar again. But he said in May that he has started to play again.
