Taylor Swift Presents Kanye West With Video Vanguard Award at VMAs

Tonight, Kanye West received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMAs and get this one – Taylor Swift presented it to him. Kanye’s introduction video was about truth and strength and the world around us. It showed Kanye’s vision, his honesty and his sense of freedom.

After the video, Taylor Swift appeared on stage and talked about the first time she met Kanye West at the VMAs when he interrupted her during her acceptance speech. He said to Swift, “I’ma left you finish but Beyonce had the greatest album.” Swift joked about it, but then brought a few tears to Kanye’s eyes when she said that his album was the first one she ever bought on iTunes when she was 12 years old. She also talked about Kanye’s recording an album after a car accident when he had his mouth wired shut. At the end of her speech, she said, “I’ma let you finish, but …” and then she said Kanye’s had one of the best careers in history. After honoring Kanye with the award, Swift left the stage and took a spot next to Kanye’s pregnant wife Kim Kardashian.

When Kanye West took the microphone, he got very serious and talked about the affect his mistake with Taylor Swift has had on his life. He got upset with himself and admitted to being disrespectful. He said he didn’t know how to say the right thing or the perfect thing. He explained that he’s been booed by thousands of people and he’s had so many haters because of what he did.

Kanye West then talked about how he doesn’t understand awards shows and pointed his finger a bit at MTV for publicizing that Taylor Swift was presenting him with his award simply for ratings. He then said that he would die for the art and for what he believes in, that he won’t always be polite. He then confessed that he smoked marijuana before getting on stage. Then, in true Kanye fashion, a rant ensued about “new ideas” and “truth” and “people who believe in ideas and truth.” At the end, he declares that he’s decided to run for President in the year 2020.
