For years, Vicki Gunvalson has had to defend her relationship with on-again-off-again boyfriend Brooks Ayers. Unfortunately for the couple, they have decided to call it quits after four years together. Read on for the facts.
1. The Couple Has Released A Joint Statement

According to Radar Online, Gunvalson and Ayers have released a statement about their break up. The statement reads:
After much prayer, thought, counseling, and consideration, we both wish nothing but a great future for each other. We have come to realize that one can indeed love someone in their heart, but that the time may come for their lives to take separate paths … There will be no further statements or interviews regarding our relationship as we choose to move on with our lives.
The couple has also said that although they live in the public eye, they would appreciate privacy on this matter.
2. Ayers Has Admitted to Cheating on Gunvalson In the Past

In previous on-camera confessions, Ayers admitted to cheating on Gunvalson, stating:
I’ve been known to cheat … bottom line, it hurt Vicki to know even if we weren’t together that I fucked somebody else. That hurt her … I didn’t mean to cross the line. I didn’t know. I thought it was appropriate.
Ayers revealed he had cheated on Gunvalson with several women including a prostitute, which was revealed by Radar Online.
3. Fellow Cast Members of Gunvalson Have Questioned Ayers’ Cancer Diagnosis

On Real Housewives Of Orange County, Gunvalson has stuck by Ayers’ side as he has talked about battling cancer. At one point, Ayers decides that chemotherapy may not be working for him. During the season, some of the women question Ayers’ diagnosis and wonder if he’s actually sick. This infuriates Gunvalson who has to defend her man once again.
4. Ayers Was Not Allowed to Be At Gunvalson’s Mother’s Funeral

According to Tamra Judge, Gunvalson’s family has not approved of her relationship with Ayers. We’ve seen that Gunvalson’s children are not fans of his, but, apparently, the rest of her family is on the same page as them. When Gunvalson’s mother passes away this season, Ayers rushes to be by her side, but he is unable to fly to Gunvalson’s mother’s funeral. Judge tells the cameras that it’s because of the family’s disapproval of him. At one point, Gunvalson tells the cameras that her mother had actually come around to Ayers, saying that she just wanted her daughter to be happy.
5. According to Ayers There Has Been One Instance of Violence In Their Relationship

While Gunvalson’s daughter Briana Culberson has voiced her concerns about her mother’s relationship, feeling that she’s been abused, Ayers has admitted that there has been one violent situation during the course of their relationship. Ayers stated that:
I didn’t grab her … in back of hair like that. I was mad and I was wrong … and that’s the only source of violence they have seen me do. The only thing I have ever done with Vicki. When I just came out of this bathroom and we were in this place and I saw a guy grab her ass … And I came up and said, ‘What the hell?!’ And she said, ‘It’s not big deal.’ And I said, ‘Yes it is a big deal.’ And I was wrong, there is never a right, wrong, or excuse to ever to touch a woman, particularly in public or private, ever! So I’ll own that. But it was never a hit or a slap.
The altercation occurred when the couple was vacationing in Puerto Vallarta.
