Hayes Grier, age 15, appears again on Dancing With the Stars tonight with pro partner Emma Slater and tonight he’s doing a performance to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Grier is performing the jive and has written all about it in his Access Hollywood blog. Grier writes:
This week’s dance is the jive, and it has been so challenging because there is more going on than ever in this routine! There are so many steps, quick steps, kicks, arms, everything is involved in this jive! Tons of moves to remember. I’m pushing harder than ever with this routine and for that top spot. Emma really got something special with this one. The jive is so hard, but so much fun. Tonight’s theme is TV shows, and we get to dance to one of my favorite cartoons growing up – “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”!
Grier then added:
I am so pumped and can’t wait for you all to see what we have in store for you! It’s a really high-energy routine and I hope you all enjoy it so much that you go and vote for us!! Team Slayes!
This week will be less emotional as last week Grier and his mother shared tears over their close relationship. Grier cried as he talked about the connection he shares with his mom who was also tearing up while watching from the audience.
While Grier is a social media megastar and is killing it on DWTS, his family says that he was actually quite shy before joining the show. Hi father Chad told WSOCTV that:
It’s surreal. He was so shy growing, and for him to perform like that, it’s crazy.
