Mark and Debby Constantino, paranormal investigators frequently featured on The Travel Channel’s hit show Ghost Adventures, were found dead and barricaded in their daughter’s apartment in Sparks, Nevada. Police now say that Mark killed Debby in a murder-suicide and their death is related to the death of Debby’s roommate, James “Jimmy” Anderson. Jimmy was found in his apartment in Reno, Nevada. The Constantinos were estranged and a had a history of domestic abuse.

1. James Anderson, Debby’s Roommate, Was Found Dead at Their Reno Apartment

The investigation into the Constantinos began after a woman found her roommate, James “Jimmy” Anderson, dead in their Reno, Nevada apartment in Escalera Court. They had a third roommate, Debby Constantino, who was missing.


2. Officers Tracked Debby’s Cell Phone to Her Daughter’s Apartment and Could Hear Shots Fired Inside

Officers tracked Debby’s cellphone to her daughter’s apartment in Sparks, Nevada, USA Today reported. When they arrived, they knocked on the door and heard shots fired inside.  A voice inside said: “Give me 15 minutes to gather my thoughts or I’ll kill her.” Officers tried negotiating with the man, but eventually had to use explosives to break through the barricade.

That’s when they found Mark and Debby’s bodies inside the barricaded home, USA Today reported. The home was at Courtside Gardens Apartments and the entire complex had been evacuated before a SWAT team broke down the barricade. Officials say that Mark had kidnapped Debby, killed James, then killed Debby before killing himself, Entertainment Tonight reported.


3. Mark Constantino And His Daughter Were Arrested for Kidnapping in August

In August, Mark Constantino and his daughter, Raquel Constantino, 23, were arrested and booked into Washoe County Jail for kidnapping after officers responded to a family fight on Daybreak Drive in Nevada, RGJ reported. Mark faced charges including domestic battery by strangulation and first-degree domestic battery. Raquel was facing charges of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and domestic battery. They allegedly dragged Debby out of her car and beat her. Back in March, Debby herself faced charges of domestic violence and battery with a deadly weapon against Mark, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Mark and Debby were estranged at the time of their deaths and Debby had a retraining order against Mark, according to TV Guide.
