WATCH: John Oliver’s Profanity-Laced Speech About Paris Attacks

John Oliver did not hold back.

The host of the HBO show Last Week Tonight, opened his show on Sunday night with a profanity-laced monologue about the Paris attacks and the people behind them, including ISIS. Watch the entire moment here, but be warned it does contain some pretty strong language:

There aren’t many words – even profane ones – to describe the horror of the terrorist attacks in Paris, but Oliver did a pretty good job of highlighting what many people, around the entire world, are thinking. He also pointed out that France has encountered tragedy before and risen above the terror.

“France is going to endure. And I’ll tell you why: If you’re in a war of culture and lifestyle with France, good (expletive) luck! … ” Oliver said. “You’ve just brought a philosophy of rigorous self-abnegation to a pastry fight, my friends.”
