Former porn star Tori Lux has claimed that adult movie icon James Deen raped her. She’s the third star to make such a claim in a matter of days. On November 28, Deen’s former lover, Stoya, said that Deen raped her while they dated. She made her allegations via Twitter. A day later, another actress, Ashley Fires, also said she had been assaulted. He has denied the allegations, saying that “I want to assure my friends, fans and colleagues that these allegations are both false and defamatory” and “I respect women and I know and respect limits both professionally and privately.”

Here’s what you need to know:

In a first person account that she wrote for The Daily Beast, Lux says:

James Deen ruthlessly attacked and degraded me. Leaving me with mental wounds that took years to heal.

She says the incident occurred after the two had filmed a scene together in the summer of 2011. The now-retired Lux says that Deen asked her if she wanted to sniff his testicles. Lux continued:

I replied with a firm “No,” in order to establish my boundary, which James then disregarded by grabbing me by the throat and shoving me down onto a mattress on the floor. He then straddled my chest, pinning down my arms with his knees and raised his hand above his head, swinging it down and hitting me in the face and head with an open palm. He did this 5 or 6 times, hard, and finally got off of me.

I stood up, disoriented, my jaw sore, and before I could collect myself, he grabbed me by my hair and shoved me to my knees, forcing my face into his crotch several times before shoving me to the floor. I was completely stunned, having no idea how to react. I felt pressured to maintain a professional demeanor, this being a major porn set, with other people present and failing to intervene.

Earlier, in December 2010, he posted a photo of Lux to his blog saying that she was “helping me out with some lights.” The picture shows her with some lightbulbs.

She was also mentioned in a July 2010 posting where he writes that Lux was “running around all naked and stuff and that was pretty rad.” Her first mention on his blog appears to come on May 23, 2010, when he wrote about directing her in a scene saying:

Finally I shot the man the myth the legend Mr Sean Michaels in a scene with a new burningangel.com girl named Tori Lux. Tori is super hot and she is all about butt sex so she and I had a lot to talk about!!!

In an editorial on The Frisky dealing with the allegations against Deen, it’s made clear that he had been fired from his position as a columnist with the site. Amelia McDonell-Parry writes:

I very much liked James Deen. I enjoyed working with him on WWJDD. I asked him to do an advice column because I liked his directness and his confidence, but most of all, I liked his emphasis on communication, honesty and, most of all, CONSENT.

That he has been accused of violating Stoya’s consent, that women I respect have since contacted me directly to say that they know of others to whom he has done the same thing? Well, I’m fucking heartsick over it.

This makes it impossible for me to work with him any further, to give him a forum for giving advice that he is accused of not following himself. No amount of good rapport between us or traffic to his columns would EVER supersede the fact that I BELIEVE WOMEN.

Parry adds that Deen was never paid for his writings and his compensation was an ad and link to his website.
