The Wiz Live! is a brand new adaptation of the 1975 Broadway musical The Wiz, which was later made into a movie starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. It is a soul and R&B reinterpretation of L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with an celebrity-studded, African-American cast. And, Stephanie Mills, who actually originated the role of Dorothy in The Wiz, is now playing Aunt Em. There will also be special acrobatic performers for the “Tornado”, “Emerald City”, and “Funky Monkeys” scenes in the show.
