Amazon’s original series Mozart in the Jungle just won big at the Golden Globes. To celebrate the show’s two wins at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards, including a win for Best TV Show, Musical or Comedy and Best Actor for Gael Garcia Bernal, Amazon is offering a big discount on Amazon Prime memberships. New members that sign up for Amazon Prime this weekend will pay just $73 (normally a Prime membership costs $99 for a year). That’s a savings of $26.
The promotion is live now. After kicking off late in the day on January 15, this promotion will come to a close on Sunday, January 17, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Although the price in your cart will show $99 when you add the membership to your cart, the promotional discount will be applied correctly at checkout.

Amazon hasn’t offered a discount like this for several months. The last time Amazon dropped Prime membership prices, it was back in September 2015. At that time, Amazon was celebrating Transparent‘s recent Emmy wins. In honor of the show’s Emmy success, the price of a new Prime membership dropped to $67, but the promo only lasted for one day. This time around, the savings are available for a full weekend.
