‘American Idol’ 2016 Top 6 Contestants & Tonight’s Performances

On tonight’s episode of American Idol, each contestants is scheduled to sing two songs. According to showrunner Scott Borchetta, the top 6 singers will each sing one song. The results will be revealed and the second performances will be executed with the judges choosing between the bottom two contestants. We will then be left with the top 5 for the final season of American Idol. In an interview with Taste of Country, Borchetta said that three contestants have actually been put on voice rest as they’ve been battling sickness the past week. Those contestants include La’Porsha Renae, Trent Harmon and Tristan McIntosh. Borchetta explains:

When we get to these last four weeks of the farewell season, all of them are feeling pretty ragged at this point. There have been a lot of seven-day weeks. It does get pretty wearisome at this point.

Cross your fingers that some of your favorite contestants will be able to perform despite feeling under the weather.
