Who Wins ‘The Bachelor’ 2016?

Ben Higgins has been so undecided about who to choose for his future wife and finally, viewers got to see who Higgins proposed to on the finale of The Bachelor.

It was down to Joelle “JoJo” Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell, but Higgins had to choose who he felt he was the most “fully” in love with … and that woman was Lauren Bushnell. Lauren Bushnell is the winner.

During the finale, Higgins sat down with jewelry designer Neil Lane and picked out the “perfect” ring for his love and now the show has set up a live wedding for the two on the After the Final Rose special.

Upon waiting for the girls to arrive, the anticipation was building until JoJo Fletcher was the first up to bat. Higgins greeted her with a hug and told her that she looked unbelievable before Fletcher poured her heart out to him. As she spoke, Higgins almost looked as if he was in pain, sad about the rejection he was about to bestow upon her. Fletcher went on to tell Higgins he was her best friend and that she was completely in love with him. In response, Higgins had to let her down, giving an explanation with several pauses. Higgins does tell Fletcher that he loves her and says that he tried to be as honest as he could. See the rejection clip below.

Fletcher tries to handle the situation with poise and she becomes upset for trusting Higgins. She also told him that she felt completely blindsided by his rejection. Before saying goodbye for the last time, the two share a long hug and Fletcher tells Higgins she’s happy for him.

Higgins goes on to say that he could have been very happy marrying Fletcher, but he loves Lauren Bushnell and doesn’t want to ever lose her. He then picks up the phone to ask for Bushnell’s father’s permission to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage. Bushnell’s father was more than happy to grant his permission.

As Lauren Bushnell goes to meet Higgins, she is full of nerves. Higgins greets her with a hug and tells her how beautiful she looks. Bushnell then goes into their history on the show together. Of course, then Higgins has to fake her out a little bit before getting into his proposal. Higgins then got down on one knee and presented Bushnell with the most glamorous Neil Lane engagement ring, asking her to marry him.

Bushnell told Higgins that he was “her person” and he told her the same. The two shared a silly and loving exit.
