“Rachel is a little too close to Jay Z,” a source told the Daily News in 2014. “Solange doesn’t like it, and Beyoncé doesn’t like it.”
The source told the newspaper, “Rachel is combative and a tough girl. She didn’t back down.”
Another source told E! Online, “Beyoncé approached Rachel to let her know the behavior was disrespectful and she wanted her out of their lives for good. Solange came over to have her sister’s back, and things got heated with her and Rachel. Jay said some disrespectful things to Beyoncé and Solange as the confrontation was going down. Roy worked part-time at Contempo Casuals, a Seaside-based retailer when she was 14, and dreamed about getting into the fashion world, she told the weekly magazine.

Roy attended Columbia Union College, now Washington Adventist University, in D.C., before moving to New York City.
“I attended Columbia Union College because it was the college my father put himself through as an adult and he strongly ‘suggested’ that I too attend. It is a Seventh Day Adventist college—very small and very strict– but I enjoyed it and learned a lot. It moved me from Northern California to the East Coast (Washington D.C.),” she told Teen Vogue. “The balance of the two coasts and the lifestyles that they offer shows up in my work today. The college was so small that it didn’t offer anything in fashion or design, so I majored in English and psychology. They are two areas that you need to be an expert in if you’re in the world of fashion.”
