Tonight was the season 22 finale of Dancing With the Stars, with the three remaining contestants Nyle DiMarco, Ginger Zee, and Paige VanZant each hoping to be the 2016 mirrorball trophy winner. On tonight’s finale, all the cast-offs from the season returned to perform, along with their pro partners. Plus, bloopers from the season were shown in addition to memorable moments. The finalists carried out performances they enjoyed this season while the pro dancers performed their own sexy dances as well. In addition, Val Chmerkovskiy and his brother Maksim gave us a preview of their upcoming tour together. Maksim is also the fiance of DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd and appeared as a guest judge on the show this season.
For the 24-hour challenge, Ginger and Val scored a 27 out of 30. The 24-hour dances are routines that each contestant and their pro come up with the night before the grand finale. It’s taxing and tiring, but they always manage to make it work. Nyle and Peta danced a cha-cha/tango fusion routine for their dance and they managed to earn a perfect score of 30 out of 30. The judges gushed over their partnership and their achievements throughout the season. Paige and Mark delivered a jive/salsa routine for their dance and the judges gave them a perfect score of 30 for Mark’s 30th birthday tonight.
