Episode 2 of The Bachelorette 2016 with JoJo Fletcher airs tonight and we’ve got all the details, along with video clips, of what to expect. Though it’s only the second episode, fights and hostility will already be under way. In addition, the first solo date goes down, along with the first two group dates. The official ABC synopsis for the episode reads:
Twenty anxious men look to get their love story with JoJo off to a good start. The the first group date give ten lucky bachelors a chance to see sparks fly when they head for a firefighting training facility, where one of the guys might need saving himself. JoJo and Derek get to pick their own adventure, and they choose a romantic picnic by the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Six bachelors get a dream date to ESPN’s popular “SportsNation” with hosts Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley. They are sure they will be able to help JoJo find a perfect match, but Chad seems determined to “shock and awe” all the way up to the rose ceremony.

Chad Begins to Show JoJo His Villainous Side

Chad Johnson has been pegged as the villain this season on the show. We have even seen footage of host Chris Harrison intervening after other contestants feel in danger. He threatens violence and seems to have a very short fuse. On tonight’s episode, contestant Alex decides to chat with Chad about giving the other guys a little distance when they have sit-downs with star JoJo. This does not go over well at all with Chad.
In addition, on one of the group dates, the guys are asked to say who they believe to be the worst match for JoJo and there’s an overwhelming response against Chad.
When asked about how she felt after watching some of the footage of Chad this season, Fletcher told E! Online:
There’s a lot of drama there, there’s a lot that happens. There’s blood, there’s tears. People are going to have to make their own opinion about Chad because it’s certainly an interesting situation there.
The Two Group Date Roses Go To …

There are two group dates on this episode and one of them, according to Reality Steve, requires the guys to endure firefighter training. The top 3 contestants on that date include Grant, Robby, and Wells, but Reality Steve says that Wells nearly passes out on the date. Almost fainting clearly has its benefits as Well reportedly gets the group date rose.
The other group date involves Chad, James Taylor, Christian, Alex, Jordan, and Nick B. The guys, along with JoJo, head to SportsNation studios to meet with Marcellus Wiley and Max Kellerman and answer some questions in a press conference. They also have to compete in a couple physical activities. The contestant who gets the group date rose ends up being James Taylor.
Derek Peth Gets the First Solo Date
Derek Peth is a banker who also is a musician in his spare time. Peth is the contestant who gets the first one-on-one date of the season and the two take a car ride over to the airport, boarding a private plane to San Francisco. The end up having a picnic together and Peth gets a rose from JoJo.
Three Contestants Get Eliminated
When the rose ceremony comes up, three contestants are sent home tonight. The contestants are reported by Reality Steve to be Will Haduch, Brandon Howell and James Spadafore. Haduch is the guy who got JoJo’s first, awkward kiss of the season after prompting her to kiss him with a paper fortune-teller. James S. is the self-proclaimed Bachelor super fan and Brandon Howell is model/actor who has appeared on Millionaire Matchmaker briefly on an episode.
