Tonight's two big musical guests were former Voice
winner Sawyer Fredericks and also DNCE, who opened up the show. After DNCE's opening, we got to meet the moms of the contestants in honor of Mother's Day this year. Shalyah Fearing described her mother as wild and crazy while other moms joked about the passion their kids always had for music. As for Nick Hagelin, he chose to honor his wife who is the mother of his children. Then, Christina Aguilera brought her son into the mix to talk about motherhood while the other coaches wished their moms at home a Happy Mother's Day. Next up was the start of the live results. The first artist announced as moving on to the top 9 was ... Alisan Porter from Team Xtina. After a commercial break, host Carson Daly asked the coaches for some words of wisdom and then brought the contestants back out to the stage to answer a couple questions before reading more results. The next performer announced as moving forward was from Team Blake Shelton and that person was Adam Wakefield. America also saved Shalyah Fearing from Adam Levine's team. Next on the agenda was a performance from Sawyer Fredericks followed by more results. Hannah Huston got the opportunity to talk about how amazing her coach Pharrell Williams has been and Paxton Ingram got to discuss how much his coach Blake Shelton has believed in him throughout the competition. And then of course ... back to the results. The next contestant safe from elimination was from Team Pharrell Williams - Hannah Huston. And the next singer who was safe was Mary Sarah from Team Blake. After a short commercial break, Nick Hagelin got a moment to thank coach Christina Aguilera for giving him the opportunity to showcase his craft to America and work on his talent. Soon after that, his teammate Bryan Bautista was announced as safe. Laith Al-Saadi from Team Adam was the next revealed as being saved by America, followed by Paxton Ingram from Team Blake. This meant that Nick Hagelin and Daniel Passino had to sing for the "Instant Save." For his performance, Nick Hagelin sang Ed Sheeran's "Photograph" while Daniel Passino performed "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars. Before getting the results, the coaches reflected on each singer's time on the show as well as the show in general. And then the last person announced as safe was ... Nick Hagelin, which meant goodbye for Daniel Passino. (Photo by: Trae Patton/NBC)
