When you need your theme song remixed for the 21st century, who ya gonna call? Apparently, Fall Out Boy, who covered the Ghostbusters theme song with Missy Elliot for the all-female reboot of the classic ’80s comedy.
Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15 and stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth. Paul Feig directed the new version, which will feature cameos by the remaining Ghostbusters stars from the original two films.

Twitter has given a mixed reaction to the Fall Out Boy/Missy Elliot collaboration. Some wish the film stuck with the original by Ray Parker Jr. and others wish the movie wish someone else would have been asked to cover the theme song. The video has become the least liked on the band’s Vevo page with more than 44,000 dislikes.
Wow, like everything else coming from this movie, the new Ghostbusters’ theme is extremely mediocre, and I’m actually a fan of Fall Out Boy.
Fall Out Boy’s new theme is the eighth track on the Ghostbusters soundtrack. It also features music from Zayn Malik, Mark Ronson and 5 Second of Summer as well as the original “Ghostbusters” song. The soundtrack will drop the same day as the movie premieres, July 15.
The film score was composed by Theodore Shapiro. He also scored Spy, Marley & Me and Tropic Thunder. The album for the original score will be released on July 8.
