A Capitol Fourth 2016 Performers
Tonight at 8 p.m. ET on PBS airs A Capitol Fourth, the Washington D.C. 4th of July fireworks special. If you are hoping to watch the show online via live stream, we have the live stream available when you click here. Tom Bergeron of Dancing With the Stars is hosting the event and there are a ton of celebrities taking the stage on the West Lawn to perform. Meanwhile, President Barack Obama and the first lady will host performances indoors with Janelle Monae and Kendrick Lamar. Click through our performers gallery for the rundown on each of them.
Smokey Robinson
Classic icon Smokey Robinson is one of tonight’s big performers. In case the weather gets too severe tonight, the full dress rehearsal from Sunday night has been recorded and can be televised on PBS for 90 minutes if the event gets canceled. The actual fireworks would then be pushed to Tuesday evening.
Kenny Loggins
Earlier this weekend, Loggins performed at the Bank of the West Celebrates America festival at Memorial Park. He is also a slated performer for A Capitol Fourth.
Gavin DeGraw
Gavin DeGraw is one of tonight’s headlining artists and he currently has a host of shows lined up for the summer. For you single ladies out there, you are in luck as DeGraw is not currently reported to be dating anyone.
Amber Riley
Amber Riley is most known for her longtime role on the musical show Glee. This past year, however, she stunned on live television in the production of The Wiz.
Cassadee Pope
Cassadee Pope is a popular country artist and she’s taking her talents to the West Lawn. Just a couple days ago, Pope performed for charity in a concert for ACM Lifting Lives.
Alisan Porter
Alisan Porter is the season 10 winner of The Voice, taking the win as part of Christina Aguilera’s team on the show. She’s a former child star-turned-wife and mother. You may recognize her from her leading role in Curly Sue as well as other movies like Parenthood. Porter will be singing tonight’s National Anthem.
Jackie Evancho
Evancho is a 16-year-old classical singer who is considered a musical prodigy. She first attracted a great deal of interest via videos she posted on YouTube and now she has a platinum and gold album under her belt.
Yolanda Adams
Yolanda Adams is a gospel singer, actress and radio personality, who, in recent months, lost decade-old radio show. Adams has been making the rounds at awards shows with her singing talent.
Sutton Foster
Foster is a Broadway and television actor who is a two-time Tony Award winner. Some know her for starring on the show Younger, alongside Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar and Miriam Shor.
Christopher Jackson Jackson stars in the Broadway musical “Hamilton” that cleaned up at the 2016 Tony Awards. The cast of the Broadway musical “On Your Feet!” is also set to perform with the National Symphony Orchestra tonight.
