LIVE STREAM: ‘Star Wars’ Celebration ‘Rogue One’ Panel

Star Wars fans are about to get a much closer look at the upcoming film in the franchise, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

A panel for the film will be held from Star Wars Celebration 2016 at 4:00 p.m. British Summer Time (11:00 a.m. Eastern). It can be streamed in the embedded YouTube player via Star Wars‘ official channel.

Present for the Rogue One panel will be Lucasfilm’s president Kathleen Kennedy, director Gareth Edwards, and some surprise special guests (members of the cast, like Felicity Jones or Forest Whitaker, may make an appearance.)

During the panel, it is expected that a brand new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be revealed. Last year’s Celebration panel for The Force Awakens was quite revealing – a second trailer was shown, BB8 came out on stage, we found out the name of the planet Jakku, and more – so we will likely end the day with a much better sense of what to expect from Rogue One.

In addition, many fans are speculating this trailer will see the return of Darth Vader. The classic Star Wars character has been confirmed to be appearing in Rogue One, and revealing him at the end of the second trailer would make a lot of sense. It be a similar move to Lucasfilm putting Han Solo at the end of the second The Force Awakens trailer.

This will be the first major panel of Celebration 2016 following a chat with Mark Hamill and a look at the backstory of The Clone Wars’ Ahsoka Tano. On Saturday, we’ll be getting panels related to The Force Awakens, Star Wars Rebels Season 3, the Marvel Star Wars comics books, and more. On Sunday, Carrie Fischer will hold a panel, and there will be a discussion about the future of Star Wars with the directors of Episode VIII and the Han Solo movie (although this future panel will not be streamed).
